Wellness refers to how you feel. Are you happy, sad, have feelings of guilt, experiencing marital issues, or having daily pain? Do you experience depression or anxiety? Do you sleep well? Are you overweight? Do you have goals and a plan on how to acheive them? Do you long for a better life?
Wellness measures how you feel about your life. Wellness counseling helps you feel better and enjoy life more. We do this by focusing on the three elements of Wellness: Mind, Body, and Spirit. During your first visit to Desert Wellness, we do an evaluation on these three elements to determine which areas of your life can use help and how we can assist you.
Mind - During your first session at Desert Wellness Counseling, you will be tested and an in-person interview conducted to look for possible mental health areas that can use improvement. Depression, anxiety, and grief are just a few of the areas we examine. Addressing mental issues is the first step in achieving a balanced life.
Body - Desert Wellness will take an indepth look at your diet and make individualized recommendations to improve health. We will create a personal exercise plan designed to improve your body health. We will run biofeedback to measure your body's response to stress and depression, and use the results to fine tune your personal treatment program.
Spirit - We do a full evaluation on your spiritual health. Your relationships, self-care, personal time, activities, and religious observences are all examined and measured. We will help you develop a list of activities that will help you build spiritual health.
All of these areas are incorporated into your Personal Wellness Plan designed to improve life satisfaction and personal happiness.
